About

THE STORY

Mayday Press was founded  in Copenhagen, Denmark May 1989. The company moved to Windhoek, Namibia later that year.

The first big assignment was to cover the independence of Africa's last colony. Or so we all thought, that it would be the last colony to gain it's freedom. But there was more to come.

Then we moved on to Kampala, Uganda in 1991 and from there to Nairobi in March 1992.

The company has it's foundation in Copenhagen and has an office in Cape Town, South Africa.

Mayday Press produces TV-documentaries, radio, print and stories for the web. We have worked in 80 countries worldwide.

Mayday Press has covered wars, famine, genocide, corruption, AIDS, elections - but most of all the daily life of the over one billion people living on the African continent.
